Serving Greater Houston and Southeast Texas

Residential resource center

A home is more than an opening.

Families call them group homes. Texas programs may call them residential support services, supervised living or host home/companion care. We help you understand the options and ask better questions.

Residential inquiries

HCS and private-funded pathways.

HCS can authorize residential support, supervised living or host home/companion care for an enrolled person. TxHmL does not include waiver-funded residential services because the participant lives in their own or family home.

People who are not enrolled in HCS may still ask about a private-funded residential arrangement. We review the person’s needs, compatibility, available setting, funding and every applicable licensing or regulatory requirement before acceptance.

Residential guides

Clear guidance for choosing the right residential setting.

Start with the person’s preferred home life, support needs, location and funding situation. Those details make the search more focused and the conversations more useful.
